One of the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in force since 2018, is to make it significantly easier for citizens to have any of their personal data, transferred across service providers. The « Data Portability and Services Incubator » (DAPSI) project will foster advanced research in the Data Portability field.
